LECTURE SERIES: ENERGY TRANSITIONS TOWARDS ZERO EMISSIONS

Emission reduction efforts have become a global goal with the Paris Agreement, a joint agreement by 193 countries and the EU to hold global temperature rise to no more than 2°C. Additionally, the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) through the Glasgow Climate Pact called on member states to significantly increase targets and efforts to reduce emissions by 2030. Indonesia is among the seven largest emitters in the world, along with China, the United States, the EU, Russia and India.
This lecture, hosted by *Prof. Kornelis Blok* and *Dr. Jaco Quist*, is designed to disseminate policies from developed countries aimed at facilitating Indonesia's transition to zero emissions. The lectures will examine renewable energy potentials in Indonesia, followed by a focused discussion on achieving a clean energy transition in South Kalimantan, the third-largest coal-producing province.
