[Repost] Global Forum on Disaster Solutions (GFDS 2024) | Uniting for a Safer Future

GFDS, with its tagline  “Uniting for a Safer Future,” is committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive platform that facilitates knowledge exchange, innovation, and cooperative collaborations among diverse individuals and organizations. We firmly believe that this effort requires collective action, as it cannot be achieved individually. In line with the 2015 Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, our attention is directed towards comprehending risks, strengthening governance, committing to targeted risk reduction initiatives, and improving preparedness. We strive to build a resilient future! The first edition of the Global Forum on Disaster Solutions (GFDS 2024) is set to take place at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia on February 21-23, 2024. In 2004, a massive earthquake and tsunami claimed the lives of over 200,000 people. The theme, ‘Two Decades Post Aceh – Indonesia’s Tsunami and Earthquake,’ has been chosen to serve as a reminder of the devastating impact of these disasters. It prompts us to learn from the past, encouraging reflection on our efforts to mitigate future risks of such disasters. This Program is Executing with THE FOUNDATION FOR THE PROMOTION OF INDUSTRIAL SCIENCE.
